Privacy Policy

Artisan Construction Inc. builds fences, decks and outdoor buildings in Sarnia and Lambton County. This page explains what we do with your personal information when you use artisan-const.ca or contact us through it. We keep it short because our handling of it is simple.

Who's responsible

What we collect

What you give us. When you fill in the quote form we collect your name, phone number, email address (if you enter one), the service and town you pick, and whatever you write in the message box. If you use our review page, we collect your star rating and, if you leave one, your written comment and any contact details you choose to include.

What comes in automatically. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs — IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time — to keep the site running and to block abuse. We don't run Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or any cross-site tracking on this website.

Cookies. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies. The only cookies this site sets are the ones needed to serve the pages and keep the forms working. Our heading and body fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means Google's servers see your IP address when a page loads.

Why we use it

• To answer your enquiry, prepare a quote and book a site visit
• To reach you about a job that's under way, and about warranty or follow-up afterwards
• To keep the business records we're required to keep for tax and insurance purposes
• To understand what customers think of our work, when you send us feedback

That's the whole list. We don't sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we don't hand it to anyone for their own marketing.

Contacting you back

When you send the quote form you're asking us to get in touch, so we'll call, text or email you about that request. If you'd rather we stopped, say so on the phone or reply to any message and we'll stop — no explanation needed. We don't run email newsletters or promotional text campaigns. If we ever start, it will be opt-in and every message will carry a one-click unsubscribe and our contact details, as Canada's anti-spam law requires.

Who else sees it

We use a small number of service providers to host this site, store form submissions, and send us the email notification when you submit a form. We also use our Google Business Profile to manage reviews, and our marketing agency, OnLead, to maintain the site and that listing on our behalf. We share your information with them only so they can do that job.

Some of these suppliers store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States. When information is held in another country it can be accessed by the courts and law enforcement of that country under its laws. We use suppliers who commit to protecting it, but we can't put it beyond the reach of a foreign court.

We'll also disclose information where the law requires it — a court order, a legal obligation, or to protect someone's safety.

How long we keep it

Quote requests we didn't win: about two years, then deleted. Customers: for the life of the job plus seven years, because tax records, warranty questions and insurance claims all reach back that far. Review feedback: as long as it's useful to us, and we'll delete a specific piece of it if you ask.

Keeping it safe

The database sits behind access controls and row-level security, and everything travelling between your browser and this site is encrypted. Only the owner and our agency can read submissions. That said, no website or email system is perfectly secure, and we won't pretend otherwise.

What you can ask for

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it if it's wrong, ask us to delete it, or withdraw your consent to us using it. Email artisan.inc7@gmail.com or phone (519) 541-2468. We'll respond within 30 days, and we won't charge you for it.

If you don't like how we handled a privacy question, tell us first — we'd rather fix it. If that doesn't settle it, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca or 1-800-282-1376.

Children

This site is meant for adults hiring a contractor. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If a child has sent us something through this site, tell us and we'll delete it.

If you're in the United States

Some visitors reach this site from Michigan and elsewhere in the US, so for clarity:

• The categories of personal information we collect are identifiers (name, phone, email, IP address), commercial information (the service you're asking about) and internet activity (server logs).
• We share it only with the service providers listed above, and only so they can do the job we hired them for.
• We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
• Do Not Track: we don't track visitors across other websites, so there's nothing for a Do Not Track signal to switch off. We don't respond to those signals, and no third party collects personally identifiable information about your activity across other sites through this one.
• California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and other state residents with statutory privacy rights can use the same contact details above to make a request. We apply the rights in this policy to everyone, wherever they live.

Changes

If we change how we handle personal information, we'll update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is a significant one, we'll say so on the page rather than quietly editing it.
